It''s only recently dawned on me to keep a blog of my life on the road..even if I may be the only one reading them, it'll be nice to have something to remind me.
My singing life is a bit different now with my decision to start the Michael Buble tribute at the beginning of the year. After getting a really good write-up in Stage and my good friend Dan saying I'd be daft if I didn't, the show is going down a storm, obviously reflecting Buble's recent success. Audiences (especially in South Wales) seem to love it - even if some overly-gealous grooms in Yorkshire and Buble-mad knicker-flinging ladies in Liverpool should know better ;)
I've recently made some stupid and costly decisions on PA equipment governed by the need to save my poor arms.. so it was nice to see my old speakers looking new, feeling suprisingly lighter and sounding brilliant again with the help of Fletch from Adlib. I feel proud to gig with them, especially when people say they sound amazing and being made in Liverpool, makes it even more special. Even if they kill me lifting them, those speakers seem to be part of me now.. maybe when all this is over they'll break them down and use them for my casket when the final curtain falls.. at least I'll be in musical heaven! :) x
